Born in Salt Lake City, Utah and raised in Hawaii and Idaho, I am currently living in Eugene, Oregon, pursuing an M.A. in Japanese Language & Literature. I graduated from the University of Utah with majors in Japanese Language & Literature and Asian Studies with a minor in Comparative Literary and Cultural Studies. Between 2012 and 2013, I lived in Tokyo, attending Waseda University’s School of International Liberal Studies’s one-year program.
My research interests include Japanese cinema and television, modern and contemporary Japanese literature, depictions of war and military in late Showa anime, and the construction of nostalgia in postwar Japan.
